Abstract

Journey and Encounter
A selection of printed works and artists books exploring journey and encounter, between the urban and the rural. Inspired by walks along the Fife coastline and journeys made into the city of Dundee, selected works map and chronicle personal and topographical narratives. Also shown are books developed from site responsive installations where printmaking has been used to invite public participation. These explore the ways in which book form can document and extend event-based practice. Examples include mono-print, silk-screen print and lithography on paper, also a method of mono printing on clay developed during a residency at Scottish Sculpture Workshop.
