After the success of the first AnSo Live Screen Printing Event in Glasgow, June 2013, Glasgow-based design organisation Analogue Social are very excited to host another live screen printing event.  We bring the AnSo Live Screen Printing Event to Dundee for Print Festival Scotland, our first ever event outside Glasgow.
As the (guaranteed?!) sun draws another Scottish summer day to a close over Dundee, inside Meadow Mill Projects the AnSo Live Screen Printing event comes to life, bare walled exhibition space, a DJ, a bar, and of course screen printing tables. Over the course of the evening there will be live screen printing to music, and finished works will be immediately hung, creating an exhibition.
Members of the Scottish design community are asked to submit proposals for work to be printed on the opening night (please check our website www.analoguesocial.net for more information on how to submit). Eight designs will be chosen to be printed, and on the night the designers of chosen proposals will print their designs.
One of the most successful aspects of our first live screen printing event was the collaboration between the printers on the opening night.  Printers not only produced runs of their own designs, but also new and spontaneous works created by mixing-up the separations with other designers. This collaborative approach and the creation of contacts within the Scottish design community are values important to Analogue Social and its goal of helping to develop the Scottish design community.
Anyone can submit work, whether novice or advanced screen printer. On the night all screens will have been prepared in advance for the designers and experienced screen printers will be on-hand to help those printing. Finished works will be signed by whichever individual or collaboration of designers were involved in creating them and hung in the Meadow Mill Projects space. The exhibition will continue for two weeks after the opening night.
Also separate to the main screen printing, will be a small area set aside to give anyone attending the event, the chance to try screen printing. An Analogue Social inspired image will be printed here and will form a take-away from the event.
