Exhibition

CIRCA
CIRCA is a series of eight silkscreen printed works by internationally renowned British artist Adam Bridgland, editioned in the print studio at Peacock Visual Arts in Aberdeen. Installed across the city of Dundee during late August 2013 in spaces egalitarian in nature, including bus and train stations, cinema foyers, libraries, shopping centres and public houses, the project embraces the theme of exploration. Moving the artwork from the traditions and confines of the art gallery and taking them in to the public realm, the context and reading of the works will become altered. Printmaking more than any other artistic medium has become intrinsically linked with popular culture, through such things as advertising in magazines or billboards for example, although we take this for granted. The project is to explore this notion by placing hand crafted printed works bedded within the history of printmaking and moving them in to everyday.
