Biography

In 2010 I was accepted into RMIT University’s Fine Art Printmaking program. Exposed to a wide variety of printmaking forms, my love for print grew. During this period of study I exhibited works in a number of group shows around Melbourne. In 2012 I completed my Bachelor degree and was the recipient of the Lancaster Press – Open Bite Student Association Award. This entails the production of an edition of lithographs at Lancaster Press and is currently underway. In 2013 I am undertaking the Fine Art Honours program at RMIT, and aim to hold a solo show within the next year.

The hidden homosexuality of seductive figures in the past and present.
This body of work is the print-based manifestation of my on-going exploration into ways in which attraction and seduction operate, and are manipulated in our society. I am investigating this within a homosexual male context, though its implications are widespread. I am interested in the provocative nature of casual gay hook-ups and sex, and the roles of attraction and manipulation through desire. The tension between the positive and negative facets of seduction intrigues me. The demon Incubus, Japanese fox spirit Kitsune, and Narcissus of Greek mythology embody archetypal seducers within my work.
