Poster Presentation

At the Nexus: International Exchange via the Scottish Print Workshops: 1983-2013
This project considers the impact of Scottish print studios on artistic discourse before the age of social media, art fairs and print conferences. Delegates will be encouraged to hone a developing timeline that documents the international artists who interacted in the Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, and Dundee print studios over the past three decades.  What kinds of affiliations and tendencies developed between artists who shared ideas, processes, and images in these workshops? How did print projects supported by these open-access studios complement, extend, and/or challenge the work of private publishing houses and academic institutions in the UK and elsewhere?
