Biography

Wieslaw Smuzny – born on 15 December 1944 in Lodz. In 1971 graduate of Fine Arts Department of Nicolas Copernicus University in Torun. Faculty- graphic art and fine arts pedagogy. From 1971 until now, held 38 individual exhibitions and took part in more than 252 group exhibitions, also participated in numerous social – artistic campaigns in Lucim.
Representative of pro avant-garde movement, open to the ideas coming from contemporary artistic world, especially to the artistic experiment perceived in context of social life and quest for creative presence of art in daily life of an individual and society as a whole.
Keen on experimenting with graphic art: – mental matrix; – social matrix; – inter-neo-medial matrix; – corporal matrix.
Full professor of fine arts. Head of Interdisciplinary Study of Fine Arts Faculty of Nicolas Copernicus University in Torun.

Exhibition

Body Print on the Paper
Exhibition “Print Body on the Paper” is a compilation of nineteen works, they are presenting in four problem categories. The first category is regarding unilateral software body print on Chinese paper (soft body print in “Milky Way”). The second category is bringing up the problem of the restriction of dimensions of the copy in the relation with the full character of the body of the model – “Formating of human body”. The third problem is double-sided fitting, the technique of the imprint to the technology of the subpress of the same side of the figure of the model ( cycles: “Liliana 162”, “Isabelle”, “In Metropolis. To walk in stilts. To be  a marionette” ). The fourth category is a body print of female and male interactive of two bodies in the horizontal and vertical position.
